My journey began after discovering a house
in a town I wanted to settle in.
Not my home yet, this
was a structure with potential. I already had a lifestyle
that I very much enjoyed, it was time to design a home
to fit that lifestyle.
I kept the footprint of the original house,
but not much else. As is the case with renovation, we
encountered structural hurdles and issues relating to
the period and age of the house, turning the re-creation
into a more ambitious project than anticipated. At long
last we had completely transformed this house. The square
footage had doubled and a true home to compliment
my lifestyle had emerged.
A kitchen, the hub of most homes, now
buzzes with guests to entertain. The front porch provides
solace each morning. Days end brings rest and renewal
in the master bedroom and bath. Weekends, family and
friends back from the beach, freshen under an outdoor
shower. They linger in a petite backyard palazzo awaiting
dining al fresco. Cold winter nights find the warmth
of a living room fireplace in a room with ample room
for a media center and volumes of books. Here I am home.
These days the only changes are seasonal.
This creation is complete, but I look forward to meeting
new clients and creating their special place to come home
to...
